Update Oct 2 2015: This year's Excelsior road project is complete and Isle Dr has reopened. There is still some construction happening in Baxter.
August 25 2015 Update trail is also closed near Walmart and other parts of town due to road construction.
previously there was no safe passable way to go all the way through Baxter using just the trail.
Less than a year after the trail was completed it was closed in the city of Baxter.

There are a number of construction projects along the Paul Bunyan Trail /Mississippi River Bike Trail (MRT) in Baxter MN that will make traveling more difficult.

Excelsior Road was under construction and there was also constrution with buildings that caused dust and noise on while on the trail.

Trail is closed and wrecked due to construction from Isle Dr (past Baxter clinics) to Co 48 to Mapleton Rd

An alternative route going South towards Crow Wing state park is be to avoid turning left at Walmart

If you are driving a car there is road construction and roads closed in these areas.
